Cr4+:YAG is an excellent saturable absorber material. It is used as a passive Q-switched crystal and is widely applied in diode-pumped or lamp-pumped Nd:YAG, Nd:YLF, Nd:YVO4, and other Nd or Yb doped lasers with a wavelength of 0.8~1.2um.
