Yb:YAG has characteristics of high doping concentration, high conversion efficiency, broad absorption bandwidth and long fluorescence lifetime. It also features a relatively long lifetime of the upper laser level. It is an excellent diode-pumped laser crystal material for high power solid-state laser.
